Elx did the same to me. Fortunately with 3 other Linux partitions to choose from, it wasn't hard to get into one of them and re-install GRUB (I use it as my boot selector). Elx also crashed several different times during install. Found out there are several places not to click on the screen while installing. Took near 10 tries just to get an install. Promising distro, but not there yet. Check out Lycoris Desktop/LX: http://www.lycoris.com. Appears to be similar philosophy to Elx but more stable at this moment.
