Well, it is slightly connected, as I'm using an old canon sureshot as a webcam vie gphoto2.
Unfortunately, after only 9 months under the eaves of the house, pointing out to sea in all weathers, the unit seems to be failing! As you can see at http://www.diamondharbour.org.nz/Local-Weather.html I'm getting very little image any more. The strange thing is that it does come good every now and then, back to an extremely creditable image. Does anyone know if there is a simple fix for this? I now have two cameras in the same state - both picked up dead cheap off tm as the LCD's were broken. Alternatively, does anyone have an old Canon sureshot that's on the gphoto list, that runs with a NB-1LH battery ( or possibly NB-4L as they're the same voltage ).
