Hi - I'd like to get some recommendations for a digital TV card. At the
moment I have a p4 3.0 ghz machine and I would like to put in a card to
record programmes, and to run as a DNLA server. But mainly to record
stuff - have a big USB drive I can use in the mean time.
Eventually, I would like to get a low powered device - so ideally the
card would be able to be shifted into this machine - but I don't really
know about low powered chips and MB's, so not sure what would be good
and what kind of slots they have etc.
The other option is a digital recorder of some description, but as far
as I know, they all encrypt the programs and it is not possible to copy
them to a USB drive. My mother has trouble with the VCR, so I would like
to be able to record stuff and give it to her.
Anyway - is the machine above good enough to record programmes? Can
anyone recommend a TV card? And what sort of stuff do I need to consider?
I don't really want to spend a lot of money either - it is just TV,
after all.
Well - any advice would be welcome.
Don
