The same is valid for single quotes, letterless accents, and
apostrophes; yes, I know Markus' article on this issue (and I'm incline
to believe he is right)---but reading Emacs Lisp files in a standard
xterm isn't pleasantly at the moment. The problem is: UTF-8 will not
improve the situation: Emacs Lisp hackers will not stop to use
`backquotes' in docstrings.
