Do you really mean all webcams, or all webcams that conform to a specific 
architecture (bridge with some minimum functionalities controlling an i2c 
sensor, where i2c commands are sent by the driver) ?

I think unifying to drivers (where possible and where it makes sense) would 
allow for a lot of code sharing. That would be great for developers and 
end-users.
