Dear List,

I am trying to attach a Logitech Quickcam Orbit MP (2006 model) to a
dell dimension 2300 running Fedora Core 6. I have downloaded revision
87 uvcvideo driver.

The camera is recognised in the list of usb devices as: 046d:08cc

It is assigned to /dev/video0

The firest time I tried it ran under kdetv. But now produces nothing.

Looking at the logs they are full of uvcvideo: -110 and uvcvideo: -32
errors.

Having read the archives it seems I have the USB reset problem and
should apply the patch discussed here:

This is where i run up against the limit of my ability. It is a bit
like a cookbook which says now 'blanch the vegetables'.

The patch appears to refer to a file called uvcvideo.c, but I cannot
find such a file on my system.

So how do I apply this patch? I have searched for patching, but
everything refers to making a fundamental change to the kernel. I
thought it better to ask the stupid question before I torch my OS
through ignorance.

So can anyone let me have a command by command guide for FC6 to apply
the patch (if it is still the appropriate action).

Thanks in advance

M
