You shouldn't be scared by that message. It didn't threaten you of a nuclear holocaust in case you would ignore it and still try using your webcam, so don't let it stop you. The error message is printed by the USB audio driver and indicates a bug in the webcam. Have a look at http://linux-uvc.berlios.de/#footnote-2 for a workaround.
