We have exactely the same problem on the last ubuntu in our laboratory.

there is no kernel log except a number.

Raphaël Pasquier works on it but he has some troubles to identify where is
the bug ...
It seems that every set up dependig on the flag V4L2_CID fail.
I remember an similar issue when we switch from a version to a svn one in
July due to a change in the API.
For now we can't control the time exposure, switch from auto to manual, on
our webcam.
If you have some ideas about a test to perform, feel free to ask us.
