It will put a pretty high risk to the DRM strategy of Apple. When you can install iPodLinux, you can install any other firmware, too. Apple will lose control about their devices, and it will be possible to install cracked firmware versions which bypass DRM. To crack the games for instance, you will need to crack the firmware.
