Don't give up too quick. This does sound like a authentication issue, had the
same problem. I came from the MSDOS / NOVELL / AS/400 world and it took me a
couple of days to get the dialup to work. (I had a harder time creating a RAS
server for my office, but once I figured it out, it's simple). Once you get a
PPP session going, download a copy of XISP from Download.com. This'll set up a
PPP session for you. You may even consider the KDE desktop. KDE has a good
dialup connection service. I've been using KDE, xt5250, and tn5250 with good
results. As suggested, read the HOW-TO's for ppp, they got me started. This
tn5250 is good. Get your PPP connection going with your ISP and ENJOY.
