The reason why I'm interested is for a tn5250 -> SNA gateway. Such a
gateway needs to handle the telnet negotiation from a server
perspective. Also, I imagine it would be useful for an AS/400
"Emulation" environment running on Linux. ;-)
Actually, on low bandwidth or heavily congested links, 5250 would be a lot
less frustrating than telnet.
