Here some things,
just to throw out...
-Linux for beginners
(newbies)
-Linux on
Laptops
-Setting up Linux to
be a cable/dsl/dial-up gateway for a home network
-Linux Security
overview-More detailed Linux
security aspects - this could be several presentations over the course of a year
(we only have 12 meetings a year) and could possible split time between a
presentation and discussion forum.
Presenter
guidelines?
I
know we have access to a projector - we can use that - a powerpoint or similar
presentation would be great for these as well as actual usage of the linux box
displayed on the wall.
Hand outs? Maybe a brief outline of the talk as well as a list of URLs for
more information, books, magazines, etc.
Recording device - someone could either record the talk and make it into a (low
quality) mp3 or other media format, as well as either the outline, notes, and/or
a transcription of the presentation (I know that last one would require some
work...)
Either leave time at the end of the session for Q&A OR make it interactive,
ie questions are asked during and integrated into the presentation. The
second option could make it short on presentation time if not handled correctly
however - maybe a time limit on answers until after the presentation, plus
we can always discuss it on the list later.
Someone to record the aforementioned questions/comments for later discussion on
the list.
Anything else?
George
