Yep, they are in the registry. I can't remember the exact location 
however, but search for a string like run-always, or run-once and you 
should find something to delete which probably won't hose up your 
registry too much.

If it is on Win9x, it could also be hidden in the c:\autoexec.bat file or 
wininit.ini or somewhere else
