Heh, that's a hard one because there are so many. Some folks will tell you go the Linux doc project. Most of the docs there are written for more advanced users, however, if you look at the list faq at http://home.nyc.rr.com/computertaijutsu/linfaq.html some books are recommended, and most of the links should still be good. The Linux getting started guide mentioned in the faq is a free online book and a good beginning in my opinion. RedHat used to have a very nice beginner's guide on their site, I'm not sure if it's still there or not. My opinion is find some docs that work for you, and read them first--it's very easy to start on say, that getting started guide I mentioned--then, someone says, what about the Rute book and you go there, and then someone else says, no, this website here, and you're jumping all over the place. Also, it helps if you tell us what Linux distribution you're using, as there are so many, and many have different purposes. Lastly, are you looking to learn the command line type things or more how to use a different GUI, that is, a different Graphic User Interface? Good luck and welcome--however, beware, it can become addictive. :) - -- Scott Robbins PGP keyID EB3467D6 ( 1B48 077D 66F6 9DB0 FDC2 A409 FA54 EB34 67D6 ) gpg --keyserver pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys EB3467D6 Xander: Oh, hey, do you want to come to our place for dinner?
