A problem I have at the moment is to connect to the web using Fedora Core.
The manufactures of my winmodem have drivers for a number of distros,
but FC is not one. Mandrake is very popular in France and as it's a
French winmodem versions of this distro are well supported, as are
early versions of Red Hat.

The serial modem I had worked fine, but a "coup de foudre" took it out
after
I carelessly left it plugged into the telephone line during a
thunderstorm.
Does anyone have the name and make of a 100% Linux compatible V90 or
V92 modem that I could order from either UK or USA (where I have
family who could ship it to me).

Thanks

John
