Help.
I cannot figure out why I cannot mount my flash drive in Debian, whereas
I can in SuSE.
in Debian, "mount -t vfat /dev/sdb /media/flash" yields an error message
"wrong fs type..."
and "mount -t auto /dev/sdb /media/flash" yields the message "you must
specify a file system type." (And I've tried msdos, ext3, and every
other file system listed as supported in "man mount8.")

Debian calls the drive sdb. SuSE calls it sda1.
In SuSE, "mount -t auto /dev/sda1 /media/sda1" works fine.

I have SuSE and Debian on the same box, dual boot. I'd like to switch
over entirely to Debian, but I've run into a few such flukey quirks.
