Now that's getting somewhere.  You've got your mouse configured
incorrectly in your conf file.

More questions:
1) What kind of mouse are you using?  Specifically, USB or PS/2?
2) When you view the X server output, what are the errors?  The lines
will start with (EE) if they're errors.
3) In /etc/X11/xorg.conf, take a look for a section about a mouse.  It's
probably a device section.  Please post here every line from that
section that doesn't start with a # character.

With this information, we should be able to solve your problem.
