Hi,

I am very new to Linux. I installed Ubuntu on my 2nd
computer(wireless) and after days of fruitless attempts I could not
get it to recognize my wireless.

So I switched to PCLINUXOS. I have it partitioned on my windows hard
drive. Wireless was very easy to set up and I had a connection within
a minute.

Problem one I downloaded two pdf files to the desktop. I can t get
them to associate to adobe (which I had downloaded through the
synaptic manager and installed). The "open with" box does not give me
an option to associate with the adobe reader. How do I get the
downloads to associate with PDF?

I have checked the newbie websites and have not found an answer.

Problem two: How do I get new downloaded programs to appear in one of
the applications menus?

Thanks
Jerry
