I've changed the Linux on my dual-boot laptop from Fedora 7 to Sabayon
(which someone mentioned in the .tar.bz2 thread). Most Linuxes with
GUI can be shoehorned into 3 or 4 GB -- not Sabayon. 12GB minimum.
That said, it's *gorgeous*, natively supports my built-in Broadcom
4318 wifi, and doesn't resort to look-the-other-way dodges to support
mp3's, all big pluses in my book. It also has really good games, e.g.
Second Life (if you're into that, I'm not). I'm seriously considering
going full conversion, removing XP from the laptop altogether!
Considering, only, at this stage, but still...

Also, I have to make a major amendment to the comments I made way back
when in my "Bakers Dozen of Linuxes" spot review. I have grown to
appreciate the Vector Linux LiveCD's version of the Gparted tool; it
can *non-destructively* resize partitions, something I've previously
had to use WinXP apps (like Partition Magic) for! I cannot for the
life of me figure out why I felt I had to use LinuxMint's partitioner
to prep the Vector install I did many moons ago!

Bottom line, I used the Vector LiveCD to repartition my laptop for the
Sabayon install. XP complained, had to reboot a couple times (XP
treated the resized HD as if it were a new device that needed
installing), but it worked out just fine.

With my luck, I'll have to use my Sabayon DVD to prep a future
install, just to keep the chain going...
