SimplyMEPIS 7.0 is the newest flavor in the revolving door that has
been Linux-side on my dual-boot laptop, and I really like it. I might
finally have hit on a keeper for that machine! It's crisper, perhaps
more formal-seeming, and more "Linux-y" than my other current
favorite, the more XP-ish (but still Linux-y) PCLinuxOS-2007.
I've also gotten my laptop wifi, the infamously difficult Broadcom
4318, working again under MEPIS -- finally remembered the step I was
overlooking! :d'oh: "ndiswrapper -m" (aka "alias wlan0 ndiswrapper")
Now, if I could only get the integral CS4236 sound card on the old
Dell Optiplex GX-1 I have at work (running PCLOS) to function, I'd be
all set!
One of suddenly too many persons named "Gary" herabouts ;)
