Which desktop manager are you using? Gnome, Fluxbox, Xfce, KDE, or any of the dozens or so of other ones? What do you see when your computer boots? Is it just a prompt? Do you have any window managers installed? What happens when you type startx? We need information if we are to be able to help you. Cheers, Roy
