Agreed.
Offered my help but OP hasn't replied, I wonder why!
I have specific reasons for prefering Mandriva, works best with my hardware
(Desktop and laptop) and it's the only disro I've been able to get MLB.com
video to work, which cost me $many per year so is important.
I try all major distro releases and actually have Ubuntu intalled on my
external HD, which was a blessing when my hard drive died last year. I was
able to boot and recover my data. (Couldn't have done this on a Windows only
box, I think.)
OK, so OPs original question was not well formed, but let us try and help him
with his current problem and not confuse him.
BTW Gary, you are a great addition to this group, all your posts are helpfull
and informative.
