Have you tried downloading w32codecs yet?  That might help a lot.

i m newbie , i m not able play mp3 files on amarok. i have installed xine
engine but whenever i m tried to play the message comes out xine cannot play
mp3 files hv copy right issue.the same problem  is also with players like
kaffeine , totem etc.
