I have lots of Windows licences from old computers. Over the years I have thrown out half a dozen. I don't think that ME is still supported, so you are probably okay using it as it is. You can find ways to patch most versions of Windows so that it defeats the protection. Just Google for it. I am not sure how legal this is, but you can probably do it in good conscience if you have a legitimate licence. Microsoft may not see it that way, but as far as I know nobody has been taken to court over it. > > Roy
Yeah, I'm serious! Hey, there are people who run Commodore 64's still, so I've heard. Seriously, I have two bits of software that won't even run under XP, but I like using them. No doubt M$ doesn't support it (ME) anymore, and I can get the ID from the back of my old desktop (which I gave/sold to a friend), but I am curious to know if there is a hack to bypass that step in set-up. Mark P.S. Oddly enough, ME crashed less over 5 years of heavy use then my XP Media did in two years, but that is probably rare, and still doesn't say much for M$. ------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from this list, please email [email protected] & you will be removed.Yahoo!
