I did not read the entier emails or replys. I can tell you that you can simply try typing the following: eject cdrom Also, see if your cdrom has been seen by the operating system. Let me know if the command does not work and we can move forward from there.

On the face of your CD drive, usually by the led light, there is a little hole, poke the wire in this hole and press it in. This is a manual release mechanism for such situations as yours.
