The w83977ef code used in LinuxBiosv1 had an "ifdef" for the TF chip version to enabled "CIR_DEVICE=6". For the EF chip version, this isn't needed. The LinuxBiosv1 code defined the iobase for each device while the LinuxBiosv2 code for the w83977tf defines the for plugandplay? Noticing maybe a different iobase instead of 0x3f0 being used.
