You probably need
option CONFIG_CONSOLE_VGA=1
option CONFIG_PCI_ROM_RUN=1
but they seem to be enabled by default for this board(?)
(I assume this is not onboard-graphics but a PCI/AGP/PCI-E card?)

I already use the two options you mention with no difference. I assume
that for an "add on" card that's all I need. My card is a BFG 8600GTS.
