Dear Sir/Ma'am,
I'm working with a friend to prototype a system which will embed linux. I
am interested in writing my own BIOS from scratch for the ASUS A7VI-VM
motherboard. Unfortunately, I have no idea where to start. ASUS provides
their own AFLASH.EXE utility, but of course no documentation on how to
initialize the board. Could you point me in the right direction? Should I
contact someone inside at ASUS about releasing additional documentation, or
are they likely to ignore me? How do people attain the necessary knowledge
to hack a proprietary board such as this one?
