Hi Ron, >> Do you mean, that you can influence the speed of the cpu ? I >> asked some time ago, for FSB, cpu voltage and multiplier >> configuration. Is this what you mean or did I miss the >> point ?
RGM> No, this is the MTRR setup that AMD did not release until a few weeks ago. RGM> It was released as part of K8 documentation. RGM> [[Unfortunately it took them so long to release it that a couple of RGM> thousand-node-clusters are going to be P4, not K7, but that's the way it RGM> goes. ]] Does this MTRR part work for the K7, too ? I'm very interested in configuring these kind of data, because I need a UNDERclocked CPU to lower the temperature. I want to try my duron 950 with about 500 MHz and with less cpu voltage. So this is exactly the other way round overclocker do their job. Can you send me docu or links ? >> What configuration do you use for that ? >> - special kernel configs >> - linuxbios config >> - serial console turned off >> - all drivers as modules >> - what drivers are compiled in >> - no init process >> - ide disabled RGM> oh boy. I'll have to work a while to get all this. No problem. There's no hurry. RGM> I'll try to find a .config for you. kernel config and linuxbios config is enough. You send me some weeks ago some configs that have worked, but 12 seconds is too slow and I want to know what's the problem. As HiFi CD player, MP3 player, DVD player the 12 seonds are too long :-) Stefan
