Not sure the folks at www.crucial.com had constant rewriting by computer in
mind when they wrote the following in their FAQ:

Description:

How many times can I use a CompactFlash card?

Solution:

As many times as you like! Because they have no moving parts and are very
durable, CompactFlash cards can be erased and reused indefinitely with no
impact on the quality of the card. And for your peace of mind, Crucial
CompactFlash cards come with a 5-year warranty.
