One problem may be that you have "su" to root and try to run linuxconf in
X, but your X environnement is too restrictive. Do something like
xhost +
(fairly unrestrictive)
and try again. To see what happen, you may want to first run something
like an xterm and then, run remadmin directly, without argument to have a
clue about the error message.
