Yep - that's in there. This just seems to be a problem if I have the
boot menu enabled in Linuxconf. If I turn the boot menu off for
Linuxconf, then I come up in Runlevel 3.

Thanks! I'll check it out... my preference really though is not to run
xdm or anything like that at all. I would prefer when noone is logged
into the console, to NOT have the resources used for running XFree86.
I.e. having the system sit there at the xdm (or kdm) prompt is basically
wasting several MB of RAM, and probably CPU cycles as well... After
all, thats one of the advantages of Linux over stuff like Windows NT -
you aren't forced into a GUI if you don't want it!
I wouldn't mind a pretty "graphical" login if it would let *ME* login to
a text mode VC - and maybe log my wife into KDE. Regarless, I'll check
out kdm...
