I just finished a PPoE module for Linuxconf. It will configure the
rp-pppoe driver from www.roaringpenguin.com.

The client (rp-pppoe) is a user-mode program and does not require any
kernel modifications. It is fully compliant with RFC 2516, the official
PPPoE specification.

The linuxconf module (pppoe-linuxconf) asks for the username, password and
interface to bind to. It configures /etc/ppp/pap-secrets and launches the
script adsl-connect.

It has been extensively tested on the canadian Sympatico HSE service, but
many other ADSL providers should be compatible.

The rp-pppoe and pppoe-linuxconf packages can be downloaded on my
development site, www.advancedextranet.com/pub/linuxconf

If you already have rp-pppoe 1.3, you need a patch for the adsl-connect
script. It is available in the ./patches subdirectory.

Please test the packages and send me back your comments, as I plan to
include those packages in the future Linux-Mandrake 7.1.
