How to make it working with GUI? > Some more details Jacques Gelinas asked for: During the RH 6.1 setup, at the point of recognizing a video card it says something like 'autoprobe result: unable to detect video card'. It also says something like: '...return to /usr/X11R6/bin/XF86_VGA16' because of unknown card or so. It also skip 'test this configuration' during the setup. After the whole installation is finished, when I try either startx or xinit it says: execve failed for /etc/X11/X (errno 2) _X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111 giving up. xinit: Connection refused (errno 111): unable to connect to X server xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error. If try to set it up with linuxconf, it says that graphical mode is not configured yet. Well, now I wonder why it doesn't use a generic vga card or so, because it actually uses graphical setup mode during the installation. Beside that, an old version of Caldera 1.2 (1998) made it running in graphical mode, but I gave it up because it was obsolette from other reasons.
