What about the fact that Linux actually makes computers fun again. There are a lot of
people I have met that think that is one of the best reasons to switch. I also try to
stay off of the MS thing.
As I was told getting negative, even in the slightest, is a big turn off for a lot of
potential users. Just like flaming an innocent writer for stating his/her opinions
does
not do much but make the whole group of users look immature and that there is no value
of Linux outside of the anti-MS camp.
Linux can stand on it's own merits without bashing MS or bringing up the monopoly power
that it holds. Just think about the first time you used Linux and why you did.
I began using it because I love UNIX and this gave me the ability to use it at home.
Also I use the home networking aspect sometimes. A lot of homes a multiple computer
now
days and the price of networking hardware is so cheap, that home networks are
reasonable
to have. And if you are talking to another 'puter professional it seems like a valid
idea to them.
Price. In most cases Linux is the cheapest OS. Actually I usually give a person the
OS
if they want to try. The Caldera install is easy enough that my 11 year old could do
it, with just asking a couple of questions.
