I think that's going overboard. A better idea would be to publicly promote
and thank those who did help. Some, such as TurboLinux, kinda forgot about
it, but did help when asked (presuming something shows in my mailbox boon
:).

The deal with the sponsors was a bit of a clusterf*** this time around.
Too many lessons being learned :), not enough time. Next time around I
expect the LDD to run a bit more smoothly as far as outside organizations
such as sponsors and media go. Did TheLinuxShow or Linux.com get mentioned
for publicity they've provided?

Having the addresses for the sponsors a month before the event really
wasn't enough time. It takes quite a bit of effort to ramp up a mailing
effort like that.

Quite a few of these deserve metion just because of their ongoing support
of Linux, so we can forgive them if they missed one thing :).

If we really want sponsors we'll combine this with the Linuxbierwanderung
and get local micro breweries to sponsor the individual LUGs (Da koennten
die Deutschen schon was Unterstuetzung finden, gell?[1] ;-).

[1] The Germans could find some support that way, right? ;-)
