What version are you using? Versions prior to 1.0.8 are unstable and show
inconsistent behaviour.
I'd be surprised if clicking on a text file in a DOS partition behaved the
same way as in a Linux partition. Linux's MSDOS/VFAT compatibility code marks
all files in a DOS partition as executable. This means that clicking on a file
will execute it, not open it. If opening the file was what you wanted,
right-click and select View.

Add the Gnome-Pager applet to your panel. You need to use a Gnome-complaint
Window Manager like E 0.15+ or WM 0.52+.
