There is a mini HOWTO for remotely runninf X apps :
/usr/doc/HOWTO/mini/Remote-X-Apps

You can also use X servers for other platforms (other than Linux). One such
X server is available at www.microimages.com . Their MIX server allows
users to run X app from Windows. Also the s/w is vailable in June PCQ CD.
