there's this pretty good book for beginers called linux in 24hrs by B.Ball. 
it dosen't come with any cd and costs only 180/- it's really great and very 
easy to understand! at fountain, on the road you get the book (new) for 20% 
less!!

btw: does anyone recomend a better distro than red hat for stand alone use 
mostly x-window stuff and grafix  I hv a celeron 266, 32 mb ram and the 
linux partition is only 675 mb ...


hi folks,

I was browsing through the book stall at vashi station and saw a book
"special edition using Linux" the authors are Jack Jackett Jr. & David
Gunter costing about Rs.530/-      (US $12.50). The book has two cd's which
contains RH, Caldera  and Suse.

I am intrested to buy this book (a newbie to linux),  any 
suggestions.........
