Well the main aim that a person sends a mail to the list is that he has some
problem pertaining to the topic concerned and that someone else who may have
encountered the same problem may be able to enlighten him regd the same thus
saving some valuable time and some frustation on part of the complainent.
However you also have to some other minute points that's always a part of
the netiquette of any list
a) This is not a support list in the true sense of the word . An actual
support site involves you being a customer and your queries being of outmost
importance to all managing that site. If a query does not elicit a response
that implies you can kick butt . However most of the people on this mailing
list (Which obviously cater to linux .. ;-) ) are not considering linux as a
profession albeit , something they enjoy / consider as a challenge ,
something that should make life a little bit more easier ..
b) A person will obviously answer if he knows the answer to your questions
.. ( Unless he's busy / tied up with some thing else )
c) Nobody .. I repeat Nobody on this list is by any way obligatory to answer
any questions posted here .. Its all on your own free will / opinions .. If
a question is unanswered then it implies either i) none of the list
receipients have actually had any experience with setting up something /
using some product .. ii) the Guys/gals are just simply too busy with their
own lives ..

Well the mail archive has been created for this very purpose.. The mail
archive presents the thread in an indented fashion that helps you keep track
for a particular thread ..

Well the list rules dictate that if a solution pertaining to a problem has
been posted then just rewording the same and reposting just wastes b/w ..
However if no one answers then I guess the 2Cents /paisa make sense ..

As I mentioned earlier the mail archive should solve the problem to a large
extent ..
Anyway still, what advice would you like to offer to a list admin regd this
???

I'm not categorizing it as one either.. ;-)

Well I guess there should be no problems regarding this ..
At least most queries on Ilug bom have been answered .. ( Haven't they ??? )
