Sandesh,
Though most mailing list software recommend what u have done, i disagree
with its use on our list.
We will come to a point where our list will only see questions and no
answers since all answers will directly go to the person who asks the
question.
But ofcourse we will follow whatever the majority feels is right :-)
ciao,
Amit

Subject: Issues for the LUG [ strong content ]
Certain issues which I'd like to highlight
The config has been modified in such a way that the default reply goes to
the person who sent the mail only and not the group .. Only if considered
necessary send the reply to the group .. Also on the cards is to include a
header on the subject [linuxers] ... which would help in the proper and
easier filtration of the mails ..
By the way I'd prefer if we get the suggestions from the group regarding
what should be actually discussed at the meet .. This time the meet I'm
afraid to say got a cold response from the other LUG members .. If we are a
Group having a common goal 1) why was the attendance only around 20-25 ..
as compared to 70-75 which attended the bangalore LUG's..
2)
< sarcasm >
All members of the LUG ( At least the core members ) also have a lot other
things at hand but still make an effort for the linux users which was
simply not acknowledged for at this meet .. Apart from a handful members
and people who were actually interested stayed on and discussed stuff that
concerned the LUG .. We have come a long way from the kind of support that
we faced in the old days where configuring an X server took me 2 months ..
yes that's correct 2 months and that kinda info is available now in hardly
minutes ....
Apart from the support from Prakash and the resources from Dinesh which we
thought of taking it as a workshop
</sarcasm >
Q . [ Do I take it that people on this list are not that active and are
partly not interested apart from their own problems ]
I want some comments especially from the core members ..
Sagar suggested that we concentrate on the problems and have explicitly
longer sessions on the same
Accepted ..
Apart from that I'd like the members to send issues / topics that could be
discussed in the coming meetings
Regards
Sandesh
If this mail hurts someone .. sorry there .. that wasn't my intention
Flames welcome .... but personally to my email ID .. not to the list if it
is specific
