53 % free what ??? Could u give us details...
- size of swap partitions
- result of 'top' - which are the top 10 processes with their CPU/Mem
consumption ??
- was this always the case or did it start suddenly ?
- what program are u running ? Is it under X-Window ?

Rashmi what is the swap space of your linux machine?Check out the
Swap space on your linux system
Morever check if there are some process set in your crontab,which
are running in background when your system starts up,that maybe a problem
Although Linux performs fast as a server ,why not install Linux(higher
versions 5.6 or 6.1 ) on a faster(pentium machine).
