Yep .. have faced this problem ..

I had solved this problem in a different fashion .. Used a single floppy
distro called mulinux and mounted the filesystem as r/w and modified the
fstab file and then rebooted the system into the original distro .. and
voila .. There are countless other ways of solving this problem , most of
which centre around the concept of loading a light O.S in memory and
modifying the files on the disk ..
