try "ls > lpr "  or " ls | lpr" ( no sure which command works ... but one of
them surely will)

you get a current directory listing in print ... then ur printer & parallel
port have been detected and running smoothly
else
you will hafta run the "printtool" utility and configure your printer ..or
slecet a printer closest to yours
