I don't understand what's wrong with the mail?  The date seems okay.  If
you recd a mail with date 6 jan 2001 and were stunned, then you obviously
haven't seen my mail about the Net security workshop, dated:
Tue, 06 Jan 1857 25:73:12 -1230 (GMT)

It's easy to change the date of a mail, but could be done innocently if
the system date is wrong.  It has nothing to do with the mail server.  The
mail date is set by the mail client used to send the mail.
