- Boot from floppy.
- Boot from CDROM.
- Take the hdd to another machine and install the OS.
- Bring another hdd to this machine and install the OS to the new HDD.
- Treat it as a diskless machine, boot up, install the OS over the
  network.
- Write a tiny monitor program using a microprocessor kit and save it to 
  the disk. This program should be able to boot, and allow you to write
  files to disk from the console. Then boot from that monitor program and
  write a program that will allow you to transfer data from another device
  (floppy? network?) to your disk. Then use this program to copy an entire
  OS to your disk.

There's more than one way to do it.
The others are left as an excercise to the reader.
