Solution??? what solution? Its simple as setting up your network card with
dhcp. Add the dns server into the resolv file in /etc... thats all there is
to it. If you have a hub you can connect more pcs to the cable modem too...
the way u would daisy chain many hubs.. connect the cable modem to the daisy
chain port and connect the remaining pcs to the hub. Make sure your isp can
allocate u more than one ip. Have such a setup running at a friends.. 3 pcs
off one cable modem. 2 win98 & one linux (rh 6.1).

Methinks that honor must go to John. he already mentioned getting his cable
modem working under linux more than a month (or two) ago.
