Dear Sir,
We are into software development and E-Commerce based interactive
commercial websites (B2C). We have software development in Visual Basic
6 and office applications running under Windows 95 / 98 while the
websites are ported on IIS Server (Windows NT 4). Since we are facing
problems with Windows NT Server and Windows 95 / 98, we are planning to
move into Red Hat Linux 6.1, and for which we have purchased a licenced
copy. Our intention is to make all future websites hosted on Apache
Server running under Linux. Our basic idea is to boot Linux from a
SERVER with nodes as dummy terminals while boot Windows from the HARD
DISK - or - have TWO SERVERS, one running LINUX while another running
Windows, with nodes booting either from the Linux Server or the Windows
Server and hence eliminating the need of hard disks on each node.
We would like to have a sound installation and smooth maintenance for
such an environment. We are looking for a possible solution early as
possible.
Thanking you,
Regards,
Haroon Mansoori
