As a side note, if you are just gonna use the system as a home PC try out
BeOS from http://www.be.com
They have a free version for download (about 43Mb).
There is a version that boots from within Linux, so all you'll need is a
minimal installation of Liunx (about 3-4 Mb) and rest of the diskspace can
be devoted to BeOS.
Take my word for it, there is no OS available in the market that performs as
fast and efficiently on an x86 processor.
