All the ISP SMTP servers act as relays for machines that dial in to them.
So you can just configure your local sendmail to use the VSNL server as a
relay, and it will work as long as you are on a VSNL account ... same goes
for other ISP's.
To make the whole thing universal, you can use a free pop+smtp account on
the net, like hotpop or flashmail. These only require you to check the pop
mail once and then you can use the smtp as relay for a fixed interval,
usually 30mins. This makes the whole setup ISP-independent; the only catch
is that you have to check mail before you send.
